The existing house needed repair and an extension to accommodate the new owners and their family. They required more living space and an additional bedroom, and its location within a conservation area was a key factor in the design process. The property was extended to the rear using materials sympathetic to the local area with plenty of glazing to allow light to flood into the new kitchen and family room. The loft conversion with a dormer window in the existing house gave the family the extra bedroom that they required.
