Acorn Care is a Birmingham based specialist nursing facility for adults aged 18 and upwards with complex working age dementia needs. We were tasked with expanding their successful business set within a Victorian building. Featuring a timber and facing brickwork façade and with differing levels also posing a challenge, the site offered limited possibility to provide the required amenities. By obtaining planning consent, followed by onsite development, we provided architectural solutions and overcame all operational issues. All with careful consideration of budget restraints. We managed to successfully expand the home to a capacity of 29 residents with large en-suites rooms, communal areas, a training and therapy facility as well as staff areas.
