Hawthorne Home provides quality assured personal and nursing care to adults, including longer term and respite care. The home also provides care for adults with dementia. A need to accommodate younger adults meant that the business desperately required additional facilities, however the site adjoins a conservation area, surrounded by residential, educational and ecclesiastical buildings, all limiting expansion opportunities. Our design created a new, modern, independent wing with facilities designed for younger, active and mobile adults with its own garden and courtyard areas. The new wing shares care staff and management, whilst retaining separation for elderly and younger residents.
